On Wednesday 9 July we’ll be hosting a free talk by Jack Thurston about the history of cycle touring, and how it developed from an everyday way of exploring the world, into round-the-world racing, extreme challenges, and voyages of self-discovery.
Jack is the host of the Bike Show podcast on Resonance FM, which has pondered topics as diverse as cyclists’ relationship with hills, to the biking credentials of Kraftwerk. He’s also the author of Lost Lanes, a compendium of beautiful cycle routes in South East England, and is currently working on a South West sequel.
The talk is being held at the Create Centre and starts at 6pm. Follow the signs to the lecture theatre at the back of the foyer.
