You might detect a cinematic theme to this year’s festival. As well as the return of the legendary Two Wheeled Drive In, on Saturday 12 July we’ll be teaming up with Clevedon’s Curzon Community Cinema, a hidden local gem, for a day of films, talks and a full-blown cycling fete.
As well as family classics like Belleville Rendez-Vouz and The Great Muppet Caper, we’ll be showing the new documentary “Bicycle”, which tells the definitive story of the UK’s love affair with cycling. Film screenings will also be bike-powered – naturally.
Author and journalist Carlton Reid will be giving a talk about the intertwining history of the bicycle and motor industries, and how they’re more closely related than you might imagine. There will be food, art, free bike tune-ups, cinema tours, and local businesses peddling their wares.
Join an organised ride out from Bristol at 10.30 am from Roll for the Soul, or make your own way there.
Tickets are priced at £5.50-£10.00 and are available online here, or call the box office on 01275 871 001.
