One of the best-loved events at the Festival, the Carnivelo is the UK’s first cycle carnival. Turn your bike into a carnival float, don your most incredible fancy dress costume, or just come as you are and join in the fun.

From the start in Millennium Square, we’ll ride out to the Avon Gorge, which will be traffic-free and packed with fun activities that afternoon as part of Portway Sunday. The ride is about 1.5 miles long (with the option to ride further once you reach the Portway) and suitable for all abilities of cyclist.

This year the Carnivelo starts at the Festival of Nature, so we’re inviting your imagination to run wild. Dress your bike as an animal, a school of fish, a wildflower meadow, or anything else from the natural world. Bonus points if you use recycled materials! For some inspiration check out the Bicycle School of Art.
